Using RSS Feedburner to Drive traffic to your WordPress Blog / Website

If you have been using WordPress for a while you will notice how fast Google indexes your pages.
When we write a post our pages are usually indexed in Google within 30 minutes.

If you use the SEO Plugin we recommended on a previous post and you do your keyword research for your blog post you will also notice that sometimes you can get a Google page one within an hour (long tailed keyword of course).

This is all great stuff and consistent content helps to drive more customers to your WordPress blog/ website.

Google FeedBurner gets you more traffic for the same effort.

What we were staggered at was the amount of traffic and clicks coming from the RSS feed. Over half our traffic and click throughs were coming from our RSS feed through feedburner.

How to get your RSS traffic moving.

If you have not done this already get the FeedBurner FeedSmith WordPress Plugin install it in your plugin folder. Then sign-up to Feedburner which is now owned by Google.

Both are simple to install just click and follow the simple instructions, no coding required.

Feedburner comes with a full stats package so you can see where your traffic is coming from and what posts are popular in RSS feed land.

Also please do take advantage of putting email sign-up to your RSS feed prominently on your website, you can also do this through your feedburner. Plus if the mood takes you why not monitize your feed with adsence.

If you are researching how to build your website we strongly recommend you use WordPress.
Click here and follow the 5 simple steps to creating a great website, you can be up and running in just a few hours.
