I’m a painter and decorator in Brighton UK. Work is really slow here, though I’m keeping busy, thanks to a lowering of my day rate. I more than halved it at the begining of the year. While this was drastic it had a viralness about it and people started talking about me which got me work when I upped the price a bit.

Thanks for your idea “brighton painter”. Lowering pricing can have a huge impact on customers when times are tough. It shows appreciation for their circumstances and this is valued as we are all currently in the same boat. The more we can do as businesses to help our customers in the bad times, the more likely they are to stay with us and recommend us to others.
