With recession now biting hard we decided to interview local businesses to hear what they were experiencing and discover what they were doing to combat the recession. "The explosion in the number of digital cameras, the willingness of “Uncle Bob” to do your wedding photography, and the effects of the recession, are some of the factors that offer challenges to professional social photographers.

Our family and individual portraits continue to surprise and delight – and often move our clients to tears. They have a unique “Gale Photography style”, and the quality of the finished images; in frames, as acrylics, or canvases, is outstanding. We’re always aware that a photo shoot is a luxury, so our prices are highly competitive.

We still offer our fabulous contemporary wedding photography service, with stunning, natural images taken unobtrusively, and beautifully presented in exquisite hand-made albums. It’s a service that’s loved by our clients.

Our recession-beating tip is to turn potential negatives into real positives. As previously mentioned, there’s a huge number of people out there with digital cameras. Many people don’t really know how to use them properly, both in a technical sense and in a creative sense, so we’re now offering photographic training to help people get the best possible images. The training takes advantage of our years of photographic experience, a creative flair for what makes a great image, and superb presentation skills. The current courses, which have plenty of “hands-on” sessions, are proving very popular. We’re also offering individual tuition, and are planning to expand our training programme.
